Backup Camcorder Battery Good to Have for Time Lapse Photography |

Today I ordered an extra camcorder battery because I want to do some time lapse photography. There are several things that I would like to make videos of. The first is my neighbor's cactus plant. It only blooms after a rain and overnight, the flowers pop up and at the crack of dawn, they open up. There are about a dozen blooms on each cactus and they cluster. They are as round as a tea cup and white. I am going to set the camcorder up in the evening before they bloom, and as the sun rises, I'll be able to see the process of them opening. My camera has time lapse capabilities, but they even suggest in the manual that I use a backup camcorder battery for anything over 10 hours, which this shoot will definitely be. I believe in sleeping 'til I wake up so being able to replace the camcorder battery after it's been running all night will assure me of a seamless video shoot of these beautiful flowers opening up. Since the film will be edited anyway, breaks in the action will be OK. |
