When it comes to making sure I have the necessary extra camera accessory on hand, I'm the worst; I just never have the right camera accessory with me when I need it. Granted I hardly go out for any length of time that I'd need to have the camera bags packed with all the accessories, but still. There are times when I am out and find I should have packed extra batteries or an extra memory card. Oh well, live and learn, something to make sure I have for the next day trip.

Usually I don't actually need to have any extra camera accessory, I use lithium batteries, so I get a long life out of those. The memory card would be the only camera accessory that I need extras of. A good time that would have come in handy was our day trip to Holland, MI last year. My mom, oldest brother, his wife and myself loaded up in his car and hit the road for the three-hour road trip from Chicago to MI. Having gone to MI for the day, or week, as a kid, I'm used to the drive, and don't mind day trips there. We had gone for tulip festival and I got so carried away taking pictures of all the tulips in the park early on, that I quickly ran out of room on my memory card. That was the first time I wished I had more than one of that camera accessory, so that I could have swapped cards out instead of deleting pictures.

Oh well, live and learn. When I get my SLR camera, I'm going to make sure I will have one or two extra memory cards, because that is the one camera accessory that I know I'll fill up fast.
