Olympus Stylus Tough 8000 Point and Shoot Camera
slr camera, digital camera zoomI have been shopping around for digital to SLR cameras for a while. My current camera has a baby view screen, something like 4 megapixels and enough scrapes to make it look like it was thrown out of boxcar, down a cliff and into a grove of thorns. The flash has ceased to work and the battery life has been cut down to a grand total of 45 minutes from full to empty. I have had that old trusty camera for a long time but it is time for something new. With the holidays coming up next month I have found exactly what I want Santa to bring this Christmas.

I hope he reads this because when I found the Olympus Stylus Tough 8000 Point & Shoot Digital Camera while shopping Electronic Photo Gadgets at http://www.electronicphotogadgets.com/ for an SLR camera, the search came to a screeching halt. This retailer has some really great products and pricing. Honestly, I have put the dream of an SLR camera out of my mind and replaced it with the picture above. To give you a better idea of why I am so excited about this camera, watch the video above. It features the lesser Tough 6000, which still can take some serious abuse. Check out just how much abuse this camera can take with the product features below.

<-Can a SLR Camera Survive This?

There are countless videos online of people using this camera on waterslides, when completely submerged, in freezing temperatures and even after being punched. This is the perfect camera for an active person; a person like myself who once in a while has butter fingers. I ruined one of my MP3 players after bobbling it in my hands for second while trying to unwind the headphones before it feel and cracked on the tile floor.

I can’t stop thinking about all the cool situations this camera could capture; skydiving, crossing through a windy winter storm, during a snowball fight, in a water park or underneath a waterfall. There is no need for a camera accessory or camera bags for the Tough 8000. I don’t think this digital camera zoom would ever lock up no matter how extreme the environment, short of falling beneath a glacier in Antarctica. Don’t expect to ever be there so this is the all purpose gift. Here is what the product description says:
